Nelio Gouveia admitted killing Jennifer Symonds at Oxford Crown Court.

Symonds, 44, was a former Microsoft executive who lived in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire.

She was found dead in the River Thames near a private members' club on the morning of March 7.

The previous evening, CCTV showed her arriving at a restaurant with Gouveia, 45, but they left after being told the kitchen was closed.

The pair had met for drinks earlier that evening, and a commotion was heard near the club between 2am and 3am.

Symonds had worked at Microsoft's UK headquarters in Reading for more than six years before being made redundant in January 2025.

Gouveia remains in custody and is due to be sentenced on November 20 at Oxford Crown Court.
