Aaryamann Sethi recalls bullying and racism during football training in England
Aaryamann Sethi moved to England at 14 to train at a football academy while continuing his education.
The son of actors Archana Puran Singh and Parmeet Sethi said he faced bullying and racist remarks from other boys at boarding school, including taunts about India.
He also recalled playing against a young Raheem Sterling, whom he described as an exceptional talent.
Two fractures in the same leg disrupted his progress: he first broke it playing rugby at school, then fractured it again in a football comeback match.
The second injury left him unsure he could return to the sport at the level he had hoped to reach.
His injuries and recovery ended his hopes of becoming a professional footballer.
He shared these memories on the All for Athletes podcast; no further plans were stated.
