Brady Tkachuk scores second straight hat trick in Panthers’ overtime win

Brady Tkachuk scored three goals to lead the Florida Panthers to a 3-2 overtime win over the Vancouver Canucks in Sunrise, Florida.

Vancouver led 2-0, but Tkachuk scored twice late in regulation to tie the game before winning it 2:23 into overtime.

A natural hat trick means one player scores three goals in a row without anyone else scoring in between.

Tkachuk achieved the feat in back-to-back games, after also scoring three straight goals in Florida’s win over Columbus on Tuesday.

He is the third player in NHL history to record natural hat tricks in consecutive games, and the first in nearly 40 years.

Tkachuk joined Florida this offseason in a trade from Ottawa, after starting the season with no goals in his first six games.

Vancouver has lost six straight games, while Florida next hosts Seattle and Vancouver visits Tampa Bay on Saturday.

It was a much more complete game aside from the last 10 minutes. I thought we did a better job weathering the storm than we expected.
