Maysan Tops Saudi Arabia’s Cleanest-Air Rankings for Q3 2026

Maysan Governorate in the Makkah region ranked first in Saudi Arabia’s cleanest-air list for the third quarter of 2026.

Four governorates in Hail made the top ten, the most of any region.

Al-Ha’it ranked second, followed by Al-Shamasiyah in Al-Qassim, while the remaining places went to governorates in several regions.

The ranking draws on measurements from 241 monitoring stations across Saudi cities, which send data for analysis and technical review.

The assessment uses standards adopted by the national environmental center and references from the US Environmental Protection Agency and the Gulf Cooperation Council.

The results help officials track pollution and guide environmental decisions, with the stated aims of reducing pollution, protecting public health and improving quality of life.
