Tlatelolco Day of the Dead offering opens October 30

Tlatelolco Day of the Dead offering opens October 30

The Mega Ofrenda Tlatelolco opens October 30 at the Plaza de las Tres Culturas in Mexico City.

The public can visit from 6:45 p.m.

The installation is part of the city's Day of the Dead celebrations and is being held at the plaza for the second year in a row.

This year's offering is dedicated to Tezcatlipoca and the Mictlán, the underworld in Mexica belief.

Artist Cristóbal Ochoa, who leads Taller 8A, designed it as a symbolic walk inspired by pre-Hispanic beliefs.

Community offerings are planned at 12 locations across the city from October 29 to November 2, including Tlatelolco.
