Hinge tests a cheaper subscription plan

Hinge is testing a cheaper subscription plan as its parent company, Match Group, looks for ways to attract paying users.

The plan will offer features such as extra filters and custom location boundaries, but Match Group has not announced the price.

The company says the tier is designed especially for women and people who are sensitive to cost.

The test comes as some users grow tired of subscriptions, endless swiping and the dating-app experience.

Hinge’s paid users rose 23% to 2.3 million in the third quarter of 2026, while Tinder’s paid users fell 4% year over year.

A cheaper option could bring more Hinge users into paid subscriptions, and Match Group plans to test more ways to improve its apps, including real-time recommendations on Tinder, in the fourth quarter.
