Man arrested over alleged €1,200 supermarket theft in Bussolengo

A 50-year-old man was arrested over an alleged supermarket theft in Bussolengo, near Verona, on Friday, October 23.

Police said he was caught inside the store with goods worth about €1,200.

The goods were recovered and returned to the supermarket.

The man was already subject to a restriction barring him from living in the Verona area, and police said he was known to law enforcement.

On Saturday, a judge in Verona upheld the arrest and ordered him to report to police in San Donato Milanese, near Milan.

The theft allegation has not been proven, and the man is presumed innocent unless a final court ruling establishes his guilt.
