Mumbai Indians release three coaches ahead of IPL 2027

Mumbai Indians are overhauling their coaching staff ahead of the 2027 Indian Premier League season.

The franchise announced that Lasith Malinga, Paras Mhambrey and Carl Hopkinson are leaving their roles with the men’s team.

Malinga was a key bowler in four of the team’s IPL title campaigns and later returned as a mentor and coach.

Kieron Pollard has taken over as head coach after Mahela Jayawardene left earlier this month.

The franchise has not confirmed who will captain the team, with Rohit Sharma and Tilak Varma among the possible choices as Hardik Pandya’s future remains uncertain.

The leadership decision comes ahead of IPL 2027, followed by a mega-auction after that season, when teams are expected to rebuild their squads.
