Three charged over alleged interference with a body at Queensland funeral home

Three people were charged after an alleged incident at a funeral home in Browns Plains, south of Brisbane, in Queensland.

Police said two men and a woman went there on Friday to view the body of a man they knew.

One man allegedly interfered with the corpse and left before police arrived, while two people were arrested at the funeral home and the third at a nearby home.

Each was charged with three offences, including misconduct with a corpse and entering premises with intent to commit an indictable offence.

The funeral home owner said she had been asked to leave the room while the family gathered around the deceased man, and later became suspicious.

Police have not identified the man or said what body part was allegedly removed.

The three were scheduled to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Saturday.
