Free Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World Demo Now Available on Steam

Square Enix has released a free demo of Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World on Steam.

The monster-collecting role-playing game is due out on December 3 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.

Players collect, train and battle monsters, with more than 500 creatures and a system for combining two monsters into a new one.

The demo covers the opening chapter and introduces combat, exploration, recruiting monsters and combining them.

Up to eight demo monsters can carry over to the full game, as long as players continue on the same platform; some monster ranks are restricted.

The story follows Dragon Quest V characters Bianca and Nera as they seek a cure for their ill fathers in the Kingdom of Witherwood.

The demo lets players try the game before launch, and completing it also unlocks a Wrangler's Bundle for the full game.
