Wesley Natã sets Fluminense record with late goal against Palmeiras

Wesley Natã scored a late goal for Fluminense in a 2-1 defeat by Palmeiras in the first leg of their 2026 CONMEBOL Libertadores semifinal.

At 18 years and 179 days, he became Fluminense’s youngest knockout-stage scorer in the competition.

The Rio de Janeiro club had trailed by two goals before Natã’s header in stoppage time.

His goal kept Fluminense’s hopes of reaching the final alive, though Palmeiras still leads the tie.

Natã joined Fluminense as a child and developed at the club’s Xerém youth academy.

The semifinal will be decided on October 21 in São Paulo, where Fluminense will try to overturn the deficit.
