Houthis say they attacked Saudi-led forces in Aden and Al Mukalla
Yemen’s Houthis said they attacked Saudi-led coalition forces in the southern cities of Aden and Al Mukalla on Wednesday.
In Aden, the group said a ballistic missile hit an operations room at Badr Camp, while a police official confirmed a blast and smoke near the airport.
Two other security sources said the site was near the airport and belonged to coalition forces.
The Houthis also targeted a military base at Al Rayyan airport in Al Mukalla, according to two military officials, who said missiles and drones were used.
The attacks came after two missiles landed inside Aden airport’s perimeter on October 16, and a deadly Houthi strike hit the presidential compound a day earlier.
The strikes add to a surge in attacks since a fragile truce broke down in July, widening the conflict between the Houthis, Saudi Arabia and Yemen’s internationally recognised government.
Saudi airstrikes have regularly targeted the Houthis in support of the government, and the latest attacks point to continued fighting.
