Three men sentenced for murders of Australian surfers in Mexico

Three men were each sentenced to 158 years and nine months in prison for murders committed in Mexico.

The victims were Australian brothers Jake and Callum Robinson and their friend Carter Rhoad.

They were killed while camping during a surfing trip in Baja California, on Mexico’s Pacific coast, in April 2024.

The men were found guilty of aggravated homicide and related offences last week.

Prosecutors said the killings happened during a robbery gone wrong, while the defence argued there was not enough evidence to prove the case.

The sentences have now been handed down.
