Japan IP Market to Return to Cannes on May 14-15, 2027

The Japan IP Market will return to Cannes on May 14-15, 2027, for its second year.

The Cannes Film Market and TIFFCOM, the content market of the Tokyo International Film Festival, are continuing their partnership.

The event connects Japanese rights holders with international producers and partners through pitches, meetings and industry discussions.

Its first edition took place in May 2026 as one of the initiatives linked to Japan being Country of Honor at the Cannes Film Market.

Companies including Kadokawa, Shochiku and Toei Company took part in that edition.

The market aims to help Japanese intellectual property reach global audiences through adaptations, acquisitions and new collaborations.

The 2027 participating companies and program will be announced in the months ahead.
