Thurgau Travel plans dog-friendly river cruises in 2027

Thurgau Travel will launch river cruises for people with dogs in 2027.

The German travel company plans three routes aboard the Classica, starting in Cologne and travelling through the Rhine and Moselle regions and the Netherlands.

One five-day route will stop in Wesel, as well as Düsseldorf and Nijmegen, with other stops on the return journey.

The trips are planned between April and October, and the Wesel route is scheduled for April and October.

The cruises are designed around dogs’ needs, with a dog area on deck, regular walking stops and dog trainers on board.

Dogs must meet size, health and behaviour requirements, and some breeds are excluded.

The new service gives dog owners a river-cruise option, while Viking is also expected to return to Wesel in 2027 after low water disrupted its stops this year.
