Messi’s late goal gives Inter Miami a 2-1 comeback win

Inter Miami beat the New England Revolution 2-1 in Foxborough, Massachusetts, on Sunday.

New England took the lead early in the second half through Dániel Gazdag.

Messi set up Germán Berterame’s equaliser in the 69th minute with a backward header.

He then scored the winner with a left-footed shot after dribbling past defenders.

The victory secured Miami a place in the 2027 Concacaf Champions Cup, a competition for top clubs in North and Central America and the Caribbean.

Miami also moved into second in the Eastern Conference, passing New England, with one regular-season game left.

The team’s final game is at home against Charlotte FC and could affect its playoff seeding.
