German TV producer Gisela Marx dies at 84
German television producer Gisela Marx has died at 84.
She was known for producing “Zwei bei Kallwass,” a pseudodocumentary entertainment show featuring non-professional actors.
The show’s success helped bring more courtroom formats to afternoon television, including “Das Jugendgericht” and “Das Familiengericht.”
Marx also led productions such as “Kallwass greift ein!”, where a presenter mediated fictional relationship problems, and “Niedrig und Kuhnt,” which featured two real detectives solving fictional cases.
Her work helped shape German daytime entertainment, blending staged stories with real-life settings and participants.
Marx received North Rhine-Westphalia’s Order of Merit in 2003 for her political and social engagement.
