Toss Bank launches fixed deposit with customer-chosen maturity date

Toss Bank has launched a fixed-term deposit with a customer-chosen maturity date in South Korea.

Customers can choose a date between one month and 36 months after opening the deposit.

The bank pays the principal and interest into the customer’s Toss Bank account on that date, which can be set to match a planned expense.

Rates depend on how long the money is deposited: deposits of at least one year can earn up to 3.8% annually, while terms of at least three months earn 3.3%.

Customers can deposit from 1 million to 1 billion won.

If plans change, they can withdraw part of the money early up to twice, provided at least 1 million won remains in the account.

The remaining balance stays deposited until the agreed maturity date.
