Some tobacco products in Italy rise by 20 cents from 14 October

From 14 October, selected tobacco products in Italy rose by 20 cents.

The increase covers some cigars, rolling tobacco and heated-tobacco sticks, as well as products for inhalation without combustion.

The Italian Customs and Monopolies Agency updated the price lists for the affected products.

Cigarettes were not included in this round, though their prices had risen earlier in 2026.

The increases follow a government plan to raise tobacco excise taxes gradually from 2026 to 2028.

The policy is expected to bring in more tax revenue, while cigarette prices are forecast to rise again in 2027 by an average of about 25 cents per pack.

Actual future price changes may vary by brand and will appear in the agency’s updated lists.
