Eight Korean startup centers expand joint secondary investment program

Eight Korean startup centers joined the S.Lounge program at an event held in Daegu on October 21.

The program, run by the Seoul Center for Creative Economy and Innovation, helps early-stage startups connect with secondary investment, where existing shares are sold.

Seoul first held the event jointly with four other regional centers in June, then expanded it to include Gangwon, Incheon and Daegu.

Seven startups presented their business models and technology test results in fields including healthcare, AI, robotics, space technology and semiconductors.

Eleven investment institutions attended to hear the presentations.

The Seoul center says it will keep supporting companies seeking share sales and follow-on investment to help them grow.
