Indonesia aims to register 48 million families for digital social assistance

Indonesia aims to register 48 million families in its Perlinsos Digital system by the end of 2026, Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf says.

The system is being used to recheck social assistance recipient data and let people who need support apply.

More than 13.2 million families have registered so far, either on their own or with help from agents.

Registration includes data checks and facial recognition, and is linked to updates to Indonesia’s national social and economic database.

Applying does not guarantee aid: the system will decide whether someone qualifies.

Agents can help residents register, but their work is voluntary and they must not charge fees.

The government hopes registrations will keep increasing as more agents and local support become available.
