India approves 60-day bonus for eligible postal employees

India’s Department of Posts has approved a 60-day performance-linked bonus for eligible postal employees for the 2025-26 financial year.

It covers MTS, Group C and non-gazetted Group B staff, as well as eligible rural postal delivery workers known as GDS.

The bonus is calculated using pay, but the monthly amount used in the calculation is capped at 7,000 rupees.

Based on that cap, the maximum bonus is estimated at about 13,816 rupees.

Employees who resigned, retired, left service or went on deputation during the year from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026 can also qualify.

Separately, other central government employees covered by a different bonus scheme were approved for a 30-day bonus, with a maximum of about 6,908 rupees.

The sources do not say when the postal bonus will be paid.
