16GB Raspberry Pi 5 price rises to $385 amid memory shortages

Raspberry Pi raised the 16GB Pi 5 price by $80 to $385.

The board now costs more than three times its $120 launch price, after several increases since December 2025.

CEO Eben Upton blamed limited supply of 16GB memory and wider component shortages.

Raspberry Pi says it has been qualifying more memory suppliers during 2026, but alternatives remain limited for its highest-memory model.

The 16GB board now costs $210 more than the 8GB version, which is priced at $175.

Despite higher prices, direct sales of the Pi 5 rose 47% in the half, and demand for 8GB models also grew.

Raspberry Pi calls the increases temporary, but memory makers expect tight supply to continue until 2028 to 2030.
