Ravens coach hopeful Lamar Jackson can play against Bills

Ravens coach Jesse Minter is hopeful Lamar Jackson can return for Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills.

Jackson has missed three games with a high ankle sprain, and Baltimore has not confirmed whether he will play or start.

Minter said Jackson did some work late last week and the team expects to know more on Wednesday.

The Ravens have lost two straight games and are 4-3, with backup Tyler Huntley starting in Jackson's absence.

Without Jackson, Baltimore has averaged 17.7 points per game over the past three weeks, and Minter said the offense can perform better even without its star quarterback.

Jackson's availability could affect Baltimore's chances in a critical game against Buffalo, but he will play only if he is healthy enough to perform as the team expects.

I think he'll be in a decent spot, but we'll know a lot more on Wednesday.

So look, if he's able to play -- that's healthy enough to play and play the way that obviously we feel like he needs to play -- then he will play.
