Social Media Influencer Arrested for Cheating Architect of ₹93 Lakh
A man who pretended to be a model on social media and dating apps has been arrested.
He tricked a woman, who is an architect, by promising to marry her.
He told her that the government had taken away his gold and money, and asked her to give him money to help.
The woman gave him over ₹93 lakh and a lot of gold jewelry.
After getting the money, the man stopped talking to her.
Police found a lot of gold, cash, expensive phones, and a BMW car at his house.
This man had also tricked other women before and was already out on bail for those cases.
A social media influencer, Shailesh Ramgude, has been arrested in Thane for allegedly cheating a 30-year-old architect out of ₹93 lakh.
Ramgude allegedly lured the architect through a dating app, promising marriage.
He falsely claimed his assets were seized by the Enforcement Directorate, requesting money from the victim to resolve the supposed issue.
Police seized 1.25 kg of gold, ₹51 lakh in cash, four high-end mobile phones, and a BMW car from the accused's residence.
Ramgude was reportedly facing two similar cheating cases in Thane and was out on bail.
