Expert Explains Whether Monsoon Really Causes Hair Fall

Soha Ali Khan asked hair expert Saloni Anand whether rainy weather directly causes hair loss.

Saloni said the monsoon itself does not directly make hair fall out.

However, humid weather can increase dandruff and other scalp problems.

These problems may make hair shedding seem worse.

Hair naturally falls out when old strands finish their life cycle.

What happens today may be connected to illness, stress, poor eating or sudden weight loss from about three months earlier.

Changing shampoo or blaming water may not solve this type of temporary shedding.

Saloni said seasonal hair fall can resolve on its own, but people should consult an expert if it lasts longer than three months.
