Assam Reports First Confirmed King Cobra Bite Survival
A man named Babul Rabha from Assam survived a rare king cobra bite.
He was working in bushes when he accidentally grabbed the snake's head.
The bite caused swelling and pain, but he was quickly taken to a hospital.
Doctors gave him medicine to fight the snake's poison, and he was moved to a bigger hospital for better care.
The teamwork of doctors and snake rescuers helped him survive.
This is the first time someone in Assam has survived a king cobra bite.
Babul Rabha (35) survived a king cobra bite, the first confirmed case in Assam.
The bite occurred on December 16 while working in bushes, causing mild swelling and pain.
The patient was initially treated at Bamunigaon Model Hospital and later referred to Gauhati Medical College.
20 vials of polyvalent anti-snake venom (ASV) were administered due to the absence of species-specific antivenom.
The coordinated efforts of medical teams and snake rescuers ensured the patient's survival.
