Former CBI-ED Judge Sudhir Parmar Faces Chargesheet for Amassing Wealth
Imagine a judge whose job is to be very fair and follow the rules.
This judge, named Sudhir Parmar, worked for a special court that dealt with big companies, some of which were building houses and had money problems.
The government says that instead of being fair, Sudhir Parmar took money from these companies.
He allegedly helped them out by making sure their properties weren't taken away by other government agencies, like the ED.
It's like he was helping his friends cheat.
Because of this, he and his family were able to get new houses and land very quickly and cheaply, using money they shouldn't have had.
Now, the government has put together a detailed report, called a chargesheet, saying he broke the law.
They are also looking into other people who might have helped him or been involved.
Haryana government has filed a chargesheet against suspended CBI-ED Special Court Judge Sudhir Parmar for alleged corruption.
Parmar is accused of amassing wealth worth ₹7-8 crore in just a few months through illicit means and showing favoritism to real estate developers.
The charge sheet details how Parmar allegedly used his influence to prevent ED from attaching properties of M3M and IREO groups.
Properties acquired by Parmar and his family included plots in Gurugram and land in Rajasthan, often at prices significantly lower than market value.
The case originated from an FIR alleging bribery and criminal conspiracy, and audio recordings of Parmar's conversations are cited as evidence.
