Varun Chakravarthy Emphasizes Process Over Results After Afghanistan Win
Varun Chakravarthy is an Indian cricket player who bowls spin.
India beat Afghanistan by seven wickets in a T20 match.
Chakravarthy bowled well and took one wicket for 16 runs.
He said players should focus on doing their job correctly instead of becoming too happy or sad about results.
For him, bowling the ball in the right place is what he can control.
What happens after the ball bounces is not always under his control.
He said losing or facing setbacks can still teach players something.
He also said injuries happen when athletes push their bodies hard.
Chakravarthy joked that Afghanistan’s spinners had a difficult time against India’s powerful batters.
Varun Chakravarthy took 1/16 as India defeated Afghanistan by seven wickets in the opening T20I in New Delhi.
The spinner said he focuses on his bowling process rather than reacting emotionally to results or judging himself only by wickets.
Chakravarthy said a good delivery remains valuable even if it does not take a wicket, while a wicket from a poor ball still requires improvement.
He described India’s England tour, despite its setbacks, as a learning experience and said every match offers lessons.
Chakravarthy also said injuries are common in sport and praised India’s batting lineup after Abhishek Sharma hit 84 from 32 balls, including seven sixes.
