Government Sanctions Tura Bypass Project in Meghalaya
Imagine a new road is being built around Tura, a town in Meghalaya, to make it easier to get around.
The government is spending a lot of money to build a new road that's about 29 kilometers long.
This new road, called a bypass, will help traffic go around Tura instead of through it, making it faster and safer for everyone.
It will also help connect to the border of Bangladesh and is part of a bigger plan to improve roads in the Northeast.
The Union Minister sanctioned Rs 951.27 crore for the Tura Bypass project.
The 29.03 km bypass will be a two-lane road with paved shoulders.
The bypass will connect NH-127B near Sanchonggre village to NH-217 at Jenggitchakgre village.
