Shubman Gill Calls 2027 World Cup Unfinished Business
Shubman Gill is the captain of India’s Test and ODI cricket teams.
He wants to lead India at the 2027 World Cup.
He says the team’s previous World Cup campaign felt unfinished because India played well but lost the final.
Gill knows players may get only a few chances to play in World Cups.
He is also the top-ranked batter in ODI cricket.
However, he says helping India win is more important than his personal ranking.
Gill is happy to have experienced players such as Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma on the team.
He listens to advice from several teammates before deciding what to do during a match.
India captain Shubman Gill says the 2027 World Cup represents unfinished business after the previous campaign ended in the final.
Gill says captaining India is a responsibility and honour rather than a source of pressure.
The number-one-ranked ODI batter says team success matters more to him than individual rankings.
Gill values the experience of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma as India prepares for another World Cup.
He says he considers advice from Kohli, Sharma, KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer before making decisions on the field.
