Chandigarh Museum of Trees Adds Manuka Tree Symbolizing India-New Zealand Friendship
A special tree museum in India, called the Museum of Trees, just got a new tree from New Zealand.
This tree is called Manuka and it's famous because it makes yummy Manuka honey!
The new Manuka tree was planted in a part of the museum called the Kiwi Grove, which is like a special section for New Zealand trees.
The museum already has other trees from New Zealand, like kauri and totara.
Planting this Manuka tree is a way for India and New Zealand to show they are friends and care about nature together.
The museum's job is to collect and protect important trees from all over the world so people can learn about them and why they are special.
The Museum of Trees in Chandigarh has added a Manuka tree, known for its honey, to its collection.
The Manuka sapling was grown at the museum's Plant Breeding Centre and planted in the dedicated Kiwi Grove.
The Kiwi Grove already features other New Zealand tree species: kauri, totara, and black beech.
Funded by the Union Ministry of Culture, the museum preserves and propagates sacred, rare, and culturally significant trees.
The planting of the Manuka tree symbolizes ecological friendship between India and New Zealand.
