Calcutta High Court Extends Stay on Demolition of Banerjee Office

Calcutta High Court Extends Stay on Demolition of Banerjee Office

A court in West Bengal has temporarily stopped the demolition of a political party office.

The office belongs to a company linked to Abhishek Banerjee’s family.

The court extended this pause until November 30.

It also told the state government to explain what was taken from the office.

The next hearing is scheduled for November 26.

Banerjee’s lawyer said the wrong part of the property was partly demolished.

The lawyer asked for compensation.

The administration says it acted after receiving a complaint that the office was built illegally.
