Rahul Gandhi Accuses Amit Shah of Guilt Over Student Crackdown
Rahul Gandhi, the main opposition leader in India's lower house, said that the Home Minister, Amit Shah, was avoiding Parliament because he was guilty of something.
He wants the Supreme Court to set up a special committee to look into how police used violence, like pellet guns, against students who protested.
He shared videos on X that show police lathi‑charging students.
The ruling party, the BJP, said Rahul was lying and asked him to apologize.
Rahul also wants Amit Shah to be removed from his job.
Rahul Gandhi accused Amit Shah of avoiding Parliament, saying his absence "reeks of guilt."
He demanded a Supreme Court‑monitored, high‑powered committee to investigate alleged police excesses, including pellet gun use, during July 20 student protests.
Gandhi shared video footage on X showing police lathi‑charging students and a protester being thrown onto the road.
The BJP responded by calling Gandhi's allegations a "bundle of lies" and demanded he apologize for misusing the House.
Gandhi also called for Shah's sacking and criticized the government's handling of the paper‑leak crackdown.
