India's Commonwealth Games hopes hit by doping cases

India's Commonwealth Games hopes hit by doping cases

Arun Kumar, an Indian judoka, has been withdrawn from the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.

He failed a dope test and tested positive for an anabolic steroid.

The National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) has provisionally suspended him.

This means he can't compete in the Games.

Arun had won a gold medal at the Taipei Asian Open last year.

His withdrawal reduces India's judo team to 12 members.

India had originally planned to send 14 judokas.

The team was training in Japan's Tsukuba University to prepare for the Games.

This is a big setback for Arun and India's judo team.

Additionally, weightlifter Dilbagh Singh was also withdrawn due to doping issues in the weightlifting squad.
