Gurugram Woman Held Over Alleged Dating-App Extortion
Police in Gurugram say a man told them he was being pressured for money by a woman he had met on a dating app.
He said they met about three years ago.
Police allege she threatened to accuse him of rape and harm his family.
They say she had received about Rs 90 lakh and was asking for more.
Police arranged for the man to meet her at a coffee house.
Officers watched from nearby and arrested her when she accepted Rs 50,000, according to police.
They say they recovered the cash and froze around Rs 95 lakh in her bank account.
The allegations are being investigated.
