Delhi BMW Crash: Victim Could Have Survived with Timely Care
A man named Navjot Singh was killed and three others were hurt when a BMW car hit his motorcycle in Delhi.
The police say the car was going too fast and the driver, Gaganpreet Kaur, did not take the injured people to the nearest hospital quickly.
The police think that if the driver had taken them to a hospital sooner, Navjot Singh might have survived.
The driver took them to a small hospital far away, which took a long time.
The police are still investigating some things, like if the driver tried to change the medical records to make things look different.
The driver and her husband say they did the best they could, but the police think they could have done better.
Navjot Singh, a 52-year-old finance ministry official, was killed in a BMW crash on September 14.
The accused, Gaganpreet Kaur, allegedly delayed providing critical medical assistance to the victim.
The accident occurred around 1.30 pm when Kaur’s BMW X5, allegedly being driven at 100-110 kmph, crashed into a metro pillar and rammed into the victim’s motorcycle.
The victim could have survived if taken to a nearby hospital within 15 minutes, but was taken to a distant hospital instead.
The chargesheet alleges that the accused has distant family links with the hospital and falsely admitted herself to the ICU to mislead investigators.
