TGHRC Recommends Compensation for Tubectomy Death Case
A woman named M. Lalitha died after a tubectomy surgery at a government hospital in Telangana.
The Telangana Human Rights Commission (TGHRC) said the government is responsible because the doctors made mistakes.
They said the family should get more money (Rs.
8 lakh) and a job for the husband to help the family live better.
The family had already gotten Rs.
2 lakh, but the commission said that wasn't enough.
The family is sad and wants the people responsible to be punished.
The Telangana Human Rights Commission (TGHRC) held the Telangana government liable for medical negligence in the death of M. Lalitha after a tubectomy surgery.
The commission recommended an additional Rs. 8 lakh in compensation and employment for the victim's husband.
The initial compensation of Rs. 2 lakh was deemed inadequate, especially considering the family's financial situation.
The victim's family alleged that no action was taken despite lodging complaints with the police and the district collector.
The commission rejected the claim of mere physiological complications, attributing the death to ileal perforation and delay in detection.
