BJP Names Jaipur Poll Candidates, Former Mayor Gets Ticket
The BJP has chosen candidates for Jaipur’s city council elections in 2026.
One of its candidates is Jyoti Khandelwal, who was once Jaipur’s mayor.
She used to belong to the Congress but later joined the BJP.
The party also selected experienced workers, women’s wing leaders, and former councillors.
Many people wanted the same tickets in several wards.
Party leaders worried that those who were not selected might run independently.
So, the BJP gave official documents and symbols to its chosen candidates just before nominations closed.
The party now wants possible rebel candidates to withdraw before September 2.
This could help prevent BJP supporters’ votes from being split.
The BJP announced its candidates on the final day of nominations for the 2026 Jaipur Municipal Corporation elections.
