Bengaluru Police Probe Alleged Form-7 Voter Deletions
Police in Bengaluru are investigating claims about voter-list forms in Jayanagar.
The forms, called Form 7, can be used to ask for a voter’s name to be removed.
Sowmya Reddy says applications sought to remove 5,698 names by wrongly claiming that voters had moved away.
She alleges that some voters were targeted and that two residents’ details were used without permission.
The complaint also says some signatures may have been forged.
Two booth-level agents and others are named in reports about the case, though one report says five people were named in the FIR.
Police are checking the allegations and the documents.
The claims have not been established.
