Russia Says Actively Discussing Ukraine Settlement with US Based on Alaska Summit
Russia's top foreign policy advisor says they are talking a lot with America about how to end the fighting in Ukraine.
They base these talks on an agreement that Russia's president, Putin, and America's president, Trump, made back in August during a meeting.
Russia says they told Ukraine what was discussed, but Ukraine and some European countries don't like the deal.
Russia believes that people who don't like the deal actually want the fighting to continue.
They also mentioned that the US hasn't officially said the deal is off the table.
Even though there have been other talks and many different opinions, Russia sees the original meeting as the main starting point for finding peace.
Russia claims active discussions with the US for a peaceful settlement in Ukraine.
The basis for these discussions is reportedly understandings reached at an Alaska summit between Putin and Trump on August 15.
Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov stated that Kiev was informed of the 'Anchorage understanding' and does not like it.
Ushakov suggested that those opposing the 'Anchorage understanding' wish to continue the conflict.
Russia notes the US has not officially voided the agreements made at the Alaska summit.
