Apple Reportedly Plans Costly MacBook Ultra With OLED Touchscreen
Apple may be making a new laptop called the MacBook Ultra.
It would sit above the current MacBook Pro models and could cost more.
The screen might use OLED technology, which can make dark colors look deeper and images look sharper.
The laptop could also accept touch input for the first time on a MacBook.
Apple may replace the familiar screen notch with a different, possibly changing cutout.
The body could be thinner, although Apple would reportedly try to keep its useful ports.
The first model might use chips already called M5 Pro and M5 Max.
Apple has also announced the M6 and M5 Ultra chips for its desktop computers.
Apple is reportedly developing a higher-tier MacBook Ultra separate from its M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBook Pro models.
The rumored laptop could feature an OLED display, touchscreen controls, and a redesigned cutout instead of the current notch.
Apple may make the MacBook Ultra thinner while attempting to retain the ports introduced with the 2021 MacBook Pro redesign.
The laptop could initially use existing M5 Pro and M5 Max chips rather than a new Ultra-tier processor.
Apple has confirmed the M6 for the Mac mini and the M5 Ultra for the Mac Studio, highlighting performance and AI improvements.
