Trichy Sends Nearly 10 Tonnes of Relief to Flood-Hit Kerala
Kerala is a region that has been hit by very heavy monsoon rain.
The rain caused floods, and water covered many roads and homes in low-lying areas.
Because of this, more than 7,000 people had to leave their houses and stay in relief camps.
People in the city of Tiruchirappalli wanted to help the affected families.
Volunteers collected things like food, groceries, clothes for children, diapers, sanitary napkins, spices and cooking oil.
They also collected bleaching powder and disinfectants to keep the camps clean.
In total, they packed nearly 10 tonnes of supplies.
On Sunday, the materials were loaded into a van and sent to Kerala.
A government officer named Balaji flagged off the van as it left.
The supplies will now be shared with families affected by the floods, including those in relief camps.

Heavy monsoon rainfall has caused flooding and waterlogging in Kerala, with Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha and Kottayam among the worst-affected areas.
More than 7,000 people from the affected areas have been moved to relief camps, according to the volunteers involved.
Collected supplies included biscuits, sanitary napkins, diapers, children's clothing, non-perishable food, groceries, cooking oil, bleaching powder and disinfectants.
The drive was coordinated by social activist Manoj Dharmar, and the van was flagged off by Tiruchirappalli District Revenue Officer Balaji.
