Uneven Monsoon Leaves Madhya Pradesh Rain-Deficient Despite Surplus in Some Districts
Madhya Pradesh is having a very uneven monsoon this year.
Some places, like Dewas and Indore, have gotten a lot more rain than usual.
Dewas has 55% more rain than normal, and Indore has 27% more.
But many other places are not getting enough rain.
Nine districts, like Alirajpur and Rewa, have very little rain.
Alirajpur has 78% less rain than normal, and Rewa has 64% less.
This is a problem because not enough rain can hurt the crops and the water supply.
The next few weeks are very important for the eastern part of Madhya Pradesh.
If it doesn't rain enough, it could cause big problems for farming and water.
Madhya Pradesh has an uneven monsoon with 14 of 55 districts recording surplus rainfall.
Dewas has the highest surplus rainfall at 55% above normal, followed by Indore at 27% above normal.
Nine districts, including Alirajpur and Rewa, have significant rainfall deficits, with Alirajpur at 78% below normal.
East Madhya Pradesh has a 22% rainfall deficit, while West Madhya Pradesh has a 12% deficit.
Continued deficient rainfall in eastern Madhya Pradesh could affect kharif crops, groundwater recharge, and reservoir levels.
