Indian Tourists Shun Azerbaijan and Turkey Amidst Political Tensions
Fewer Indian tourists are visiting both Turkey and Azerbaijan.
This is happening because these countries supported Pakistan during a conflict with India.
Some travel websites are also no longer promoting trips to these places.
This has led to a big drop in the number of Indian tourists going to these countries.
Essentially, India is reacting to these countries' actions by decreasing tourism.
Indian tourism to Azerbaijan dropped by 66% in June compared to the previous year.
In June, only 9,934 Indian tourists visited Azerbaijan, down from 28,315 the previous year.
Azerbaijan's tourism website displays a map of disputed areas that excludes part of India.
Indian tourism to Turkey has also halved in recent months.
Travel portals have reduced promotion of travel packages to both Turkey and Azerbaijan.
