Jailed IPS Officer Hospitalized for Heart Issues
A former police officer named Amitabh Thakur was sent to the hospital because he felt pain in his heart while he was in jail.
He was arrested last month for doing something wrong related to getting a piece of land for his wife using fake papers.
The court said no to his request to be released on bail.
He was first checked by the jail doctor and then taken to a bigger hospital for more treatment.
He says his arrest is because he spoke against the government about a medicine issue.
Former IPS officer Amitabh Thakur was hospitalized after complaining of heart-related discomfort while in jail.
Thakur was arrested on December 10, 2025, for allegedly fraudulently securing an industrial plot using fabricated documents.
His bail plea was rejected by a local court on January 6, 2026.
Thakur claims his arrest is linked to his criticism of the state government over the cough syrup issue.
He was initially examined by the jail doctor and then referred to BRD Medical College in Gorakhpur for further treatment.
