Pakistani Man Awaiting Deportation After Jail Term in Mumbai
A 65‑year‑old man from Pakistan named Nadir Munir Khan was caught in Mumbai because he entered India without a passport or visa.
He was put in jail for six months and finished his sentence in October.
After he was released, he stayed at a police station while officials wait for Pakistan to give him a travel permit so he can go back home.
The police have sent many letters to Pakistan but have not heard back yet.
Until the permit arrives, he will stay under police supervision at the station.
Nadir Munir Khan, 65, a Pakistani cloth merchant, remains at MRA Marg Police Station after completing a six‑month jail term.
He was arrested on April 11, 2024, for illegally entering and staying in India without valid travel documents.
Deportation is delayed because Pakistani authorities have not issued the required travel permit.
Khan was fined in Nepal for overstaying and lost his passport, which he claims led to his illegal entry into India.
Mumbai Police have repeatedly written to the Ministry of External Affairs and Pakistani officials, but no response has been received.
