18th-Century Inscription Names Tukkuguda Hill Venkatapati Konda

Researchers found an old Telugu inscription at a temple in Tukkuguda.

It says the hill was called Venkatapati Konda and the deity was called Tirupati Prasanna Venkatadri.

The inscription dates to February 4, 1762.

It was made for a religious purpose by a man named Ramaya Garu.

The site has cave temples for Venkateswara and Shiva.

It also has sculptures and a pavilion with four pillars.

Visitors see the Venkateswara idols through a mirror because they cannot be viewed directly.

Another old inscription is carved on a rock beside the path to the temple.
