UP Election Official Reviews Inactive Political Parties
The head election official in Uttar Pradesh, Mr. Rinwa, met with 25 political parties.
He was checking up on 119 parties that haven't been active in elections for six years.
The parties had to show documents proving they followed the rules, like how they got money and their financial reports.
Most parties didn't show up, so the election office will decide what to do next, maybe even removing them from the list.
This is to make sure elections are fair and that only active parties are registered.
CEO Navdeep Rinwa held a hearing with 25 inactive political parties in Uttar Pradesh.
The hearing was part of a review of 119 inactive parties that haven't contested elections in six years.
Parties were asked to submit compliance documents, including financial reports.
94 parties failed to attend the hearing after receiving a notice.
Further action, potentially deregistration, will be considered by election authorities.
