Mother, Uncle Arrested in Bhopal Woman’s Strangulation Case
Police in Bhopal arrested a woman and her brother after her daughter died.
The daughter was 21 years old and was named Ayushi Rai.
Police said the family disagreed with her about whom she should marry.
They allege that an argument happened after the mother saw a photograph of Ayushi with another young man.
Police said the mother strangled Ayushi with a scarf called a dupatta.
They also said the uncle covered her face with a pillow.
The family allegedly told neighbours that Ayushi had stomach pain and vomiting.
A post-mortem report indicated that she died from suffocation and strangulation.
Police arrested Kamla Rai and Vijay Rai for the alleged strangulation death of 21-year-old Ayushi Rai.
